Union Operating Engineer position. Candidate will possess a NYFD Q01 Refrigeration License and be a member of the Collective Bargaining Agreement for the IUOE local 94 in New York City.
Candidate will be expected to work off shift hours, stand watch, assume Watch Engineer responsibilities, use a BMS system, repair plumbing, minor carpentry, mechanical systems, HVAC and electrical diagnostics for basic building operations and switchgear understanding for emergency back up systems such as UPS and STS systems.
Candidate should possess good oral and written communication skills and present him/herself in a professional manner in uniform at all times.
Engineer candidate should be able to work with DDC BMS technology, capable of receiving, understanding and completing assigned work tasks via a CMMS system and submitting completed tasks via CMMS. Engineer should be able to perform diagnostics of HVAC systems, waste systems, kitchen systems, basic electrical diagnostics, and possess mechanical ability.
Candidate must also possess good interpersonal and written communication skills as well as windows office skills. Candidate must dress in a presentable and professional manner due to client interaction at location. Candidate must be willing to take direction from senior engineers and Chief Engineer.
