Job Description
To assist the Pharmacist in the dispensing and preparation of medications for patient use. The Pharmacy Technician II is responsible for daily purchasing and inventory management at the site under the direction of site pharmacy management. The Pharmacy Technician II may be assigned responsibility for pharmacy technology and other processes including but not limited to automated dispensing cabinets, controlled substance vault, repackaging, inventory management systems, and USP797/800 environmental standards. All duties and responsibilities of the Pharmacy Technician II will comply with NYS law and the rules and regulations as promulgated by the New York State Board of Pharmacy. Each shift, the Pharmacy Technician II will work with various pharmacists who direct the daily workflow as needed to adjust to changes in the patient care workload.

Minimum Or Preferred Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED is required. Associate of Arts degree is preferred. 2 Years of Hospital Pharmacy Technician experience within the last 5 years required. Knowledge of Microsoft office products and pharmacy computer technology software (ADC and vault software, pharmacy wholesaler purchasing software) preferred. Pharmacy Technician skills test required. Certified Pharmacy Technician and Registered Pharmacy Technician required upon hire. The Registered Pharmacy Technician designation is required by the NYS Board of Regents and the Commissioner of Education effective April 25, 2021.
Salary Range
$23.76-$30.08 per hour *Wage will be determined based on factors such as candidate's experience, qualifications, internal equity, and any applicable collective bargaining agreement.*
