Position Summary
Being a part of the Wigs, Hair, and Makeup (WH&M) Crew means working under the WH&M Lead to get every performer looking their best in their wigs and makeup so they can shine on stage in the middle of the gorgeous red rocks of Padre Canyon.
As a member of the WH&M Crew you'll be backstage, collaborating with the rest of the WH&M team to run the show. You'll be responsible for running a track, including prepping the wigs, check ins, pre-sets, quick changes, logging things that need fixing (notes), and end of night cleaning and blocking of wigs and spaces.
Required Skills
- Stays alert, specially when backstage
- Google Suite (primarily google sheets for updating paperwork)
- Successfully complete presets, quick changes, and check ins/outs
- General wig and makeup assistance for performers
- Unblocking, blocking, and routine cleaning of wigs
- Knowledge and skill to help performers with quick changes, as an individual and as part of a team
- Ability to work with performers and staff in a positive and professional manner while on campus at all times
- Ability to listen, take instruction, and to collaborate as a team to complete the assigned tasks
- Clean and maintain all spaces daily
- Ability to work outside in a desert climate
- Basic hand stitching for quick repairs
- Other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
- Ability to lift 20 lbs.
- Must be able to run short distances and use stairs both while carrying a laundry basket with items inside
- Must be able to stand for the length of a show
- Adhere to and promote all Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and maintain a safe work environment
- Adhere to all rules and regulations required by the Actor's Equity Association (AEA) and the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees (IATSE)

- 2 years of professional WH&M experience

Limited housing is available at $50 per week.
This position is represented by IATSE Chapter 720, but you do not have to be an IATSE member to apply.
