Job Summary
The Hospital Assistant II is responsible for the receipt, delivery, and shipping of all items delivered to the UCSF Medical Center Materiel Services central receiving area.
The Hospital Assistant II is responsible for verifying, checking, recording incoming shipments accurately, as well as reporting damages, shortages, overages and expired shipments to the senior lead or supervisor.
The Hospital Assistant II is responsible for obtaining signature from recipient of shipment.
The Hospital Assistant II is responsible for securing received shipments in the receiving area. He/she is accountable for reporting discrepancies to the team leader, Senior Lead and or Supervisor, and following up through resolution phase.
The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.
Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.
The salary range for this position is $29.63 - $36.99 (Hourly Rate).

Required Qualifications
- High School graduate or equivalent; ability to read, write, and follow written and oral instructions in English.
- Demonstrates strong organizational skills
- Pays close attention to detail
- Possesses physical strenght necessary to lift and move heavy boxes received
- Possesses basic math skills
- Works well with a team
- Communicates clearly and effectively
- Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills
- Handles discrepancies or shipping problems calmly and politely
- Exchibits familiarity with shipping and billing procedures
- Manages time efficiently
- Demonstrates solid problem-solving skills
- Is capable of operating forklifts and other equipment to move heavy shipments
- Ability to be friendly, courteous, and work in a cooperative manner.
- Ability to safely lift/move heavy supplies and equipment, up to 60 pounds.
- Ability to stand for an eight hour shift, if necessary.
- Able to walk, climb stairs, and sit throughout the shift.
- Must be able to work weekends, holidays and nights in a moments notice
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous hands on experience in PMM ( Pathway Materiel Management ) system
- Previous experience in Track Core system
- Familiarity in Windows, including Microsoft Office suite and internet
- Familiarity in Aetheon TUGs system functionality
- Familiarity in ScrubEx system which dispenses scrubs
- Applicants must have a current performance rating of Consistently Exceeds Expectations ( Superior)
