Job Summary
This position is located in the Department of Licensing and Consumer Protection. This description can be used as a generic position description for all entitles throughout DLCP. Incumbent serves as an Engineering Technician. The incumbent has generalized duties and responsibilities required with the primary responsibility of performing a variety of technical engineering assignments and projects. Performs special projects and prepares comprehensive reports on studies and other special assignments.
Duties And Responsibilities
The incumbent will perform a wide range of complex research, development, design, evaluation, inspection, production, application, standardization, testing, or analysis involving the construction and/or maintenance of facilities, structures, systems, processes, equipment, devices, and/or materials. Such structures include complex multiple structure urban sites up to and in excess of 600, 000 square feet of gross square feet floor area. The selected candidate also conducts field investigations to observe site development, operational and safety conditions and compliance with established/accepted design specifications. The selected candidate will also analyze extremely complex issues or problems, compiles data, provides complex technical::11 information and/or direction and prepare numerous pertinent reports.
Qualifications And Education
Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the normal line of progression. Specialized experience is experience which is in or directly related to the line of work of the position and has equipped the applicant with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Investigative skills, methods and technique, effective communication orally and in writing and the ability to work independently exercises good judgment.
