About El Dorado Hills Fire Department

The El Dorado Hills Fire Department was formed in 1963 and is led by five elected board members. It employs more than 80 employees that include fire suppression, emergency medical services, fire prevention and administrative personnel. The department is an all-risk department that provides fire protection and emergency medical services 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. All stations are a designated Safe Place for children and adults that are in danger, as well as Safe Surrender for babies. In addition, the department is involved with community services and events. To ensure the safety of our youngest citizens, our Fire Department conducts a Buckle Up Baby Program, to ensure car seats are inspected for proper installation. Residents can also participate in our Life Jacket Loaner Safety Program, so that swimming, boating, and watersport enthusiasts who find themselves without life jackets can borrow a life jacket to enjoy a safe day on the water. Every holiday season, our premier event known as the Santa Run is a weeklong joyous event that brings Santa, Mrs. Claus, and the running elves to many neighborhoods and designated locations to collect toys for Shriners Hospital and food for families in need, all while spreading cheer, and handing out candy canes to participants.
