Adjunct faculty salary for the 2024-2025 fiscal year is $1,131.00- $1,154.00 per credit hour, as listed in the CBA

South Puget Sound Community College seeks an engaging and dedicated Psychology Adjunct Professor to teach in our Social Sciences division.

SPSCC accepts applications for adjunct faculty (part-time) positions on an ongoing basis to establish a qualified pool of applicants. The applicant pool is created for future, part-time professor appointments for the individual program or course indicated. This announcement will serve as an open and continuous applicant pool. Appointment availability varies from quarter to quarter.

South Puget Sound Community College's mission is to support student success in postsecondary academic transfer and workforce education that responds to the needs of the south sound region. This position directly supports the College's mission by allowing faculty in the welding program appropriate time to lecture students on welding concepts, while allowing others to practice welding techniques in the lab while ensuring that industry standards are being practiced and taught.

What You'll Do

Ability to teach a range of Psychology courses, to include:

  • General Psychology
  • Social Psychology
  • Lifespan Psychology
  • Psychology of Human Relations
  • Abnormal Psychology
  • Human Sexuality
  • Personality Theories

Course Schedules

  • Courses typically meet four days per week (Monday - Thursday) and run for 65 minutes, with start times as follows: 7:20 a.m., 8:40 a.m., 10:00 a.m., 11:20 a.m., 12:40 p.m., or 2:00 p.m.
  • Some courses meet two days per week (Monday/Wednesday or Tuesday/Thursday) with runtimes as follows: 7:20-9:45 a.m., 10:00 a.m.-12:25 p.m., 12:40-3:05 p.m., or 6:00-8:15 p.m.

Qualifications You Possess

Minimum Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Psychology or related area from an accredited college or university and teaching experience at the college level.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience using a variety of instructional methodologies to support diverse learners.
  • Experience working with Learning Management Systems (LMS) such as Canvas.
  • Demonstrated experience designing and delivering curriculum that teaches critical thinking and multicultural competencies.
