About This Opportunity Â
Provides labor and maintenance services in the maintenance and repair of city owned facilities, including serving as a lead worker when needed.

- Performs a variety of maintenance and repair tasks
- Performs general carpentry and demolition
- Participates in painting projects
- Performs general mechanical maintenance on equipment and preventive maintenance inspections on facility equipment
- Performs repairs and inspections, parts ordering, safety inspections, and asset data entry on facility equipment
- Performs minor welding and soldering repairs
- Carries out considerable plumbing and pipefitting and maintains and operates pumps
- Performs maintenance in areas including snowplowing, shoveling snow and salt/sanding
- Drives dump truck, pickup truck, or other service vehicles of work system to haul equipment, supplies, and debris and unloads trucks
- Performs maintenance in areas including snowplowing, shoveling snow and salt/sanding
- Operates skid loader, fork truck (lift), and man-lifts
- Performs all work duties and activities in accordance with City policies, procedures and safety practices
- Attends work regularly at the designated place and time
- Maintains regular and consistent attendance at work
- Performs related work as required
Required Education And Experience
- High School Diploma and three (3) to five (5) years of experience in the maintenance and repair of mechanical hydraulic equipment, including two (2) years experience in maintenance or repair of pumps, water valves, mains, or related structures
OR
- An equivalent combination of education and/or experience (i.e., one year of relevant experience may substitute for one year of education)
- Ability to communicate effectively
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse populations
Required Licenses or Certifications
- Valid U.S. Driver's License
- Backflow Prevention Certification within 12 months of hire
- Ability to pass NCIC background check
Desired Qualifications
- Project lead work
- Journeyman level mechanical license

- Monday-Friday 4:00pm- 12:30am
Hourly Rate
The Building Maintenance Worker III Is Covered Under The AFSCME Bargaining Union, And All New Hires Begin Employment At $25.53 Per Hour, Regardless Of Years Of Experience. Employees In This Classification Receive a Step Increase On Their Anniversary. The Steps Effective 7/1/2024 Include
