Starting Salary: $87,516.00

This position is open to the public and all current City employees covered under the City’s collective bargaining agreement with AMERICAN FEDERATION OF STATE, COUNTY, AND MUNICIPAL EMPLOYEES (AFSCME) – BARGAINING UNIT 1, 3, 4 & 5. Only employees in City job titles in this bargaining unit are eligible to bid.

This position is in support of the Hospital Preparedness Program (HPP), a federally funded program through the HHS Administration for Strategic Preparedness and Response (ASPR). The Hospital Preparedness Program prepares the health care delivery system to meet community needs, provide equitable access to care, and save lives during disasters and emergencies through the building and support of healthcare coalitions.

Essential Duties

  • Support the collection and analysis of data pertaining to the performance of the Hospital Preparedness Program grant objectives and prepares and maintains program reports
  • Monitor Hospital Preparedness grant funded projects and works with program staff to monitor their implementation to ensure compliance with funding source reporting requirements
  • Develop and monitor Hospital Preparedness performance measures and identify and implement grant performance improvements.
  • Work collaboratively with Public Health Emergency Preparedness Program GRS to align grant objectives to assure programmatic continuity
  • Prepare Hospital Preparedness Program grant application and write grant proposals including the development of program concepts, budgets and timelines for program implementation; and ensure proposed programs are in compliance with grantors funding requirements
  • Communicate with city healthcare partners as directed during large city events or incidents
  • Serves as part of Incident Command during a planned event or emergency based on programmatic needs
  • Execute and maintain Delegate Agency Contract. Ensure knowledge of agency's Scope of Work, budget, and progress on meeting objectives outlined in the contract.
  • Other duties as required

Shift: Monday-Friday

Hours: 8:30am – 4:30pm

THIS POSITION IS IN THE CAREER SERVICE

Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, or a directly related field, plus two (2) year of grants preparation, community outreach, or project management experience



Selection Requirements

This position requires applicants to complete an interview which will include a written exercise and/or a skills assessment test as part of the interview. The interviewed candidate(s) possessing the qualifications best suited to fulfill the responsibilities of the position, based on the oral and written parts of the interview will be selected.

Preference Will Be Given To Candidates Possessing The Following

  • Previous experience with federal and state grant projects
  • Previous experience with competitive grant writing
  • Previous experience identifying and securing new funding sources for programs
  • Previous experience in human services programs, coalition work, and/or healthcare and hospitals
  • Previous experience in project management
  • Proficiency with MS Office software
