The Department of Management (DOM), Division of Information Technology (DoIT) is seeking an Information Technology Administrator 2! This role ensures the efficient execution of initiatives aligned with the agency’s goals, while developing and empowering the team to meet evolving needs. The ideal candidate will drive the successful implementation of solutions, champion best practices, and ensure service outcomes support both agency and statewide objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Development Team, ensuring efficiency and alignment with DOM goals. Supervise IT staff performance, provide guidance, and foster a productive, supportive environment.
- Hire, onboard, train, and develop staff. Set achievable goals, perform regular evaluations, and provide ongoing feedback and training to promote career growth.
- Ensure the successful implementation of software solutions, the maintenance of existing services, and the execution of initiatives that achieve agency and state-wide outcomes.
- Administer personnel policies, approve leave, manage grievances, and ensure compliance with relevant handbooks and contracts (DAS, DOM, AFSCME).
- Foster open communication by engaging regularly with staff through 1:1 and group meetings to ensure clarity, transparency, and effective team collaboration.
- Implement the strategic program plan, ensuring alignment with organizational goals, policies, and procedures. Oversee communication and coordination between staff to meet these objectives.
- Determine staffing, technical resource needs, and budget allocation. Assign resources to projects, ensuring on-time and on-budget delivery while monitoring progress and reporting.
- Ensure adherence to data security standards and oversee staff, providing supervision to full-time employees and guidance to contractors, ensuring IT services meet agency needs and policy goals.
- Maintain strong professional relationships with key stakeholders, including internal teams (e.g., development, analysts) and external partners (e.g., vendors), to ensure effective communication and collaboration across the organization.
- Drive process re-engineering efforts for greater efficiency and cost-effectiveness while overseeing the timely and budget-conscious delivery of technology solutions, and providing leadership with key financial insights and vendor recommendations.
- Assist with additional tasks assigned by leadership to ensure operational efficiency and support the DOM mission. Participate in professional activities that promote career growth for both yourself and your staff.

Background Check Requirements

Minimum Qualification Requirements
Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university and experience equal to six years of full-time professional work in information technology systems management which included two years of management experience in information technology;
OR
an equivalent combination of education and experience substituting the equivalent of six months of full time work experience in information technology for one year of the required education to a maximum substitution of two years;
OR
substitution of one year (thirty semester of equivalent hours) of graduate level course work in Computer Science or Management Information Systems for one year of the required work experience to a maximum substitution of one year;
OR
employees with current continuous experience in the state executive branch that includes experience equal to thirty months of full time work as an Information Technology Specialist 4;
OR
employees with current continuous experience in the state executive branch that includes experience equal to eighteen months of full time work as an Information Technology Specialist 5;
OR
employees with current continuous experience in the state executive branch that includes experience equal to one-year full time work as an Information Technology Administrator 1.
