Raycap, Inc., an industry leader in manufacturing solutions for telecommunications, renewable energy, transportation, defense, and other applications, is currently looking for a second-shift Welder in our Kearny, NJ facility. This is a fast-paced position in a metal manufacturing environment.
The Powder Coating Technician position is responsible for all functions related to the daily production output utilizing a manual powder coat gun system and spray booth. This position will require the use of computers, gas-fired ovens, air-powered filtration systems, air-powered spray guns, and measurement instruments.
Job Responsibilities
- Set up and spray power on steel parts per required colors and MIL thickness
- Communicate with production leads
- Test parts for color, cure, thickness, and other quality related checks
- Maintain work area and ensure a clean, safe work environment
- Work with Quality, Environmental, H&S employees to ensure and maintain compliance with safety, operational, and regulatory standards of Quality
- Has the obligation to be aware of and comply with environmental, safety policies and regulations and endures duties of high-quality standards at all times.
Job Requirements
- Ability to read and interpret 2D prints and work instructions
- 1-year minimum experience working in a powder coat shop utilizing manual spray applications
- Ability to use MIL thickness measurement instruments
- Ability to set parameters and operate oven controls per work instructions
- Ability to communicate verbally
- Excellent time management skills
- Willingness to adapt and work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
Hours: Second shift (3:30PM-12:00AM)
Monday through Friday
This job requires occasional overtime, which may change to meet our business's needs.
Break/Lunch: 30 minutes lunch, plus two 15-minute breaks, to be determined by the manager.
Union: IBEW Local Union 3 with a 45-day probationary period.

- Medical/Dental/Vision/HRA/Annuity – 6 months from the hire date.
- Vacation Time – will begin effective June 30 th , after 6 months of continuous employment.

- Mandatory One Time $182 Union application fee.
