The
Crew Supervisor will oversee the crew during construction, maintenance, and repair of distribution and transmission systems at Keesler. Will perform hands-on work with underground distribution lines and auxiliary equipment such as conduits, insulators, and poles.
Duties And Responsibilities
- Maintain, repair, troubleshoot, modify, and install various types of electrical high voltage equipment and related devices such as poles, transformers, switches, relays and substation equipment.
- This position applies technical knowledge of electronic principles in determining equipment malfunction and apply skill in restoring equipment operation and evaluate performance and reliability of system components.
- Operate equipment such as cranes, digger trucks, aerial trucks, tensioners, underdogs, and equipment necessary to complete related work.
- Read and interpret grade and slope stakes and simple plans, and may grease, adjust, and make emergency repairs to equipment.
- Dig holes and trenches, set poles, climb poles, string wire, install equipment and test systems.
- Will utilize various types of tools: hand, battery, electric, hydraulic, gas-powered, etc.
- Participate in the supervision, instruction, and development of Apprentice Linemen.
- Participate in safety meetings and trainings.
- Will adhere to all safety rules and regulations and will be required to respond to emergency callouts to restore electrical service.
- Follow safety standards and procedures to ensure work is complete without incident or injury.

Skills & Qualifications
- Must possess Journeyman Lineman Card, or verifiable related work experience.
- Minimum of four (4+) years of experience as a Journeyman Lineman working with electrical high voltage utilities: overhead transmission, underground distribution.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively utilize technology in completion of duties.
- Ability to provide instruction and supervision over assigned crew of Maintenance Electrical Workers and General Maintenance Workers.
Work Authorization/Union Requirements/Security Clearance
- You must be a US Citizen.
- Become signatory to local union IBEW 903 and pay IBEW 903 required dues.
- You will be required to obtain Military Base Access Security Clearance.
- Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL-A) required.
