Registration Specialist: This 1.0FTE/Full-time position is scheduled to work 8-HR variable shfits and is UFCW represented.
Compensation: Non-exempt, $18.70/HR-$30.19/HR

Job Summary
The Registration Specialist coordinates services for patient registration including: greeting patients, collecting demographic data and insurance information, collecting co-pays and communicating with other departments. Provides a “Patients First” experience and supports a positive workplace by maintaining an upbeat and professional work environment while completing all assigned tasks in a timely and accurate manner.
Job Specific Duties & Responsibilities
- Greets patients and other visitors in a polite, prompt and helpful manner. Responds to requests and provides assistance including any necessary information, instructions, or directions.
- Registers new and established patients by completing the initial entry of all patient information into the hospital/clinic computer systems. Updates patient insurance information and demographics, collects and records co-payments, provides necessary forms for completion, obtains required signatures, and communicates the appropriate information.
- Answers phones in a pleasant manner, assists with callers’ needs in an appropriate and timely manner.
- Completes tasks in accordance with department standards for quality, accuracy and timeliness.
- Demonstrates respect for patients, families and co-workers, regardless of gender, race, socioeconomic status, etc., as evidenced by courteous service to all.
- Coordinates work activities and services within the team and with other departments.
- Follows work procedures, policies, and regulations; actively participates in quality and process improvement activities, development/training activities, and staff meetings.
- Maintains work and waiting areas in a clean and orderly condition.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Education And Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Two (2) years of customer service and clerical experience.
- Patient registration and/or health care experience preferred.
