Located in Templeton amongst the oak trees, Adventist Health Twin Cities has been serving northern San Luis Obispo County since 1977. Comprised of a 122-bed acute care facility, our team provides exceptional care in emergency medicine, orthopedics, obstetrics, digestive disorders, wound care, and various medical, surgical and outpatient services. Position Summary
This is a union-based role represented by SEIU. Performs the function of a Perinatal Technician II. The Perinatal Technician II will be required to scrub designated OB cases and take call. The Perinatal Technician II will function as part of the OB team by “picking” OB cases and helping to maintain the integrity of the OB equipment and instruments. The Perinatal Technician II will demonstrate strict adherence to and a sound understanding of sterile technique. The Perinatal Technician II works under the supervision of the physician and the operating room/OB nurse/circulator and takes direction from these healthcare team members. Performs the professional functions of an OB Tech in organizing, prioritizing, and performing the duties of this position in a responsible manner. Coordinates, manages, provides and delegates work responsibilities.
Job Requirements
Communication is an essential skill requiring the ability to see, hear, and speak. Fluent in written and spoken English. Must be able to fulfill the essential functions of the position.
Education And Work Experience
- Successful completion of required .edu courses including Aseptic Technique and Sterile Supply Processing: Required
- Two years recent acute care experience: Preferred
- Previous OR scrubbing experience (CORT): Preferred
Licenses And Certifications
- Current California Certified Nursing Assistant certification: Required
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association: Required
