The Command Center Technician serves as the highest-level technical support in the Data Center Services (DCS) Command Center Operations Unit. This unit supports multiple agencies state-wide and critical areas such as financials, budgeting, procurement, payroll, and personnel. It provides after hours and weekend support of multiple state agency service desks and 24/7 disaster recovery and after-hours incident management support.
You will support, execute and monitor all Mainframe, iSeries, and Windows systems-based multiple agency batch processes, implement new batch jobs and applications, compile programs, and plan, execute and coordinate major batch system implementations. Additionally, providing customer service, configuration, and maintenance, planning, monitoring, incident management support and enforcing security for DCS enterprise-wide operating systems. You support the on-going maintenance of batch job applications critical to conducting State of Oregon business that provides services to Oregonians.

Please Note: This essential* position will be assigned to following shift: Night (11:00pm-7:30am) and may work weekends, depending on current business needs. This position is not suitable for remote work and will require on-site attendance.
Minimum Qualifications
What We Are Looking For
- Four (4) years of information systems experience in: IT Service Desk, ticketing and support ;OR
- An Associate's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, OR completion of a two (2) year accredited vocational training program in information technology or related field; AND two (2) years of information systems experience in: IT Service Desk, ticketing and support; OR
- A Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or closely related field may substitute for the experience
Desired Attributes
- Prior experience working with mainframe batch scheduling software (CA WA ESP,) virtual tape systems, and automatic tape libraries.
- Demonstrated experience working with help desks and technical staff of multiple customers, for example: state agencies, commissions, boards, cities, and counties for the purpose of troubleshooting service issues.
- Demonstrated skill and knowledge of ITIL methodologies and their application through ITSM applications.
- Demonstrated experience with information technology management systems, enterprise monitoring tools, network, security practices, network infrastructures.
- Highly skilled in the principles of network fundamentals, z/OS mainframe and iSeries operating systems, software and hardware standards and assessing impacts to statewide customers.
- Skills working with RACF administration, JCL, TSO, ISPF and mainframe and iSeries system monitoring tools.
- Advanced knowledge of industry standard system/network monitoring tools (Solar Winds, etc.) and/or trouble ticket systems such as IVANTI.
