The Eugene Water & Electric Board is currently seeking Fleet Mechanic to perform daily activities of complex diagnostic, repair, maintenance, and other related tasks on the Utilities’ fleet of vehicles, power operated equipment and trailers. The selected candidate will be responsible for keeping automotive equipment in good running order, making repairs as needed, and returning the equipment to service quickly and economically. This position performs the mechanical repair and maintenance of automobiles, light and heavy-duty trucks, construction equipment such as backhoes and excavators, specialized aerial devices such as bucket trucks, derricks, cranes, hydro-excavators, and other assigned equipment.
The primary schedule for this position is Swing Shift, M-Th, 3:00pm-1:30am (4/10’s). While most of the work is performed at EWEB’s Roosevelt Operation Center, employees may perform fieldwork under varying conditions along with occasional weekend and/or various shifts during emergencies and during training.

Hourly Wage Range Format:
The starting hourly wage for this position is $36.2640 – 45.3300 hourly, commensurate with knowledge, skills, education, and experience as it relates to the position.
Minimum Training and Experience Required:
Minimum Experience: Five years of recent (journey level) work experience with diesel, automotive and alternative technology maintenance and drivability diagnostics.
Education: Associate's degree in applied science with automotive or diesel study or related degree, along with electronics training or an equivalent combination of education or journey-level certification plus additional job-related experience may be qualifying.
