Temporary

International Freshman Application Processors (NE H NI SEIU 925 Non Supv) to process international freshman applications.


Admissions, a unit within the Enrollment Management, supports the Provost as well as the University of Washington community. The mission of the Office of Undergraduate Admissions is to attract and enroll talented and diverse students in order to help create an intellectually and culturally vibrant student body. Individual processors must be able to learn quickly and manage a large workload with speed and accuracy, while adhering to and upholding University of Washington’s policy on confidentiality, with strong attention to detail. Individuals who share these values and are interested in joining a fast-paced work environment as International Application Processors to assist in the processing of over 10,000 international freshman applications for the Autumn 2025 freshman class. This position reports to the Associate Director for International Operations.

There will be approximately five weeks of fast paced, intensive remote training (estimated training period from November 19 to December 23). Specialized training may be provided as deemed necessary. Selected candidates for this position will be expected to independently complete repetitive and detailed procedures with speed and accuracy after the training period. Work will be continually reviewed to verify consistent implementation of procedures.

Candidates will work remotely, but closely with Office of Admissions staff and must make a commitment for the entire duration of the assignment, November 19, 2024 through January 31, 2025 with the possibility of extension into February. Processors will be required to pick up and transport technology equipment (laptop, charger, monitor, keyboard, mouse, etc.) from UW Seattle Campus the week prior to November 8.


SCHEDULE


The Office of Admissions (virtual) is open Monday through Friday, excluding state holidays*. Consistent attendance is required.

  • Training schedule (6hr/day): Tuesday, November 19 – December 23, 8am to 3pm
  • Work schedule (8hr/day): Thursday, December 26 – Friday, Jan 31, 8 am to 5 pmTentative end date*Application Processors will not be scheduled to work( https://hr.uw.edu/ops/leaves/holiday-calendar/ ):Thursday, November 28 Thanksgiving DayFriday, November 29 Native American Heritage DayTuesday, December 24 Christmas EveWednesday, December 25 Christmas DayWednesday, January 1 New Year’s DayMonday, January 20 Martin Luther King, Jr.’s Birthday DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Application Processors will work closely with the International Operations team to process international freshman applications
  • Perform extensive data entry for application information
  • Evaluate complex foreign credentials for international freshman applications
  • Process 60+ applications per day
  • Verify that files are complete for admission review
  • Review applications for minimum requirements and calculate GPAs
  • Participate in online training activities and discussions on Zoom and Microsoft Teams
  • Learn quickly and apply complicated training materials and policies
  • Ability to process rapidly and accurately a large workload
  • Work independently for hours at a time
  • Other duties as assigned, which may include matching/attaching transcripts to application folders, reading and responding to emails, data checking, etc. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
  • High school graduation or GED equivalent, AND one year of admissions or registrar's office experience, or one year's college education. DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Familiarity with course grades and GPA calculation, such as U.S. high school/college systems
  • Ability to embrace constant change with flexibility
  • Intermediate computer literacy CONDITITONS OF EMPLOYMENT
  • Candidate must be able to travel to UW Seattle campus for equipment pick up and return. Pick up will be November 4 through November 8, between 10 am – 3:30 pm, and return will be expected within 2 weeks of the completion of their assignment.
  • Candidate must work within Pacific Time Zone hours.
