Human Resources Generalist

The Human Resource Generalist will play a pivotal role in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the HR department. With a primary emphasis on recruitment, the incumbent will be responsible for sourcing, interviewing, and onboarding new talent. Additionally, this role involves efficiently managing HR reports, ensuring accurate and timely processing. The HR Generalist will also lead orientation sessions to familiarize new hires with company policies and procedures. This position requires a proactive and detail-oriented professional who can navigate various HR functions to support the organization's overall success.

The HR Generalist will report directly to the ParkATL Director of Shuttle Operations and Vectour’s Administrative Director.

Primary Duties And Responsibilities

Design and Implement Recruiting Strategy:

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive recruiting strategy to meet organizational needs

Recruitment Materials and Job Posting:

  • Prepare compelling recruitment materials and post job openings on relevant platforms such as job boards, newspapers, colleges, and other channels

Candidate Sourcing and Screening:

  • Utilize databases, social media, and other resources to source and recruit potential candidates
  • Screen resumes and job applications to identify qualified candidates

Interview Process:

  • Conduct interviews using various recruiting and selection tools/methods, ensuring adherence to schedules
  • Prepare and facilitate interview sessions

Payroll Processing Backup:

  • Serve as backup for payroll processing activities

HR Best Practices:

  • Stay informed on HR recruiting best practices and implement them effectively

Reporting:

  • Generate analytical and well-documented recruiting reports for team review

Candidate Relationship Management:

  • Act as a point of contact for candidates, building influential relationships throughout the selection process

Interview Coordination:

  • Schedule interviews and communicate pre-employment processes to candidates

New Hire Onboarding:

  • Prepare new hire packets, including benefit information when applicable
  • Register new employees in the timeclock system
  • Assist candidates with registration and completion of employee paperwork using ADP's onboarding feature

HR Compliance and Record Keeping:

  • Ensure compliance with HR regulations by maintaining filing systems (Employment, I9, Disciplinary, and DOT)
  • Process employment verifications and complete unemployment questionnaires

Payroll System Maintenance:

  • Update the SEIU Bargaining employee list, incorporating seniority and any wage or status changes

Communication and Support:

  • Respond to HR inquiries and provide information (policy, procedure, benefits, recruitment) to internal and external customers via phone or walk-in

Additional Administrative Tasks:

  • Prepare spreadsheets and process annual Motor Vehicle Records (MVRs) following outlined procedures
  • Facilitate orientation classes for new hires
  • Post vacant positions through internal bulletin postings as needed
  • Email seniority list updates to the union executive board

Other Assigned Duties:

  • Undertake any other essential duties as assigned by the supervisor

Job Requirements

Educational Background:

  • Bachelor's Degree, particularly in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a closely related field of study
  • Professional Experience:
  • Two (2) or more years of hands-on experience as an HR Generalist, demonstrating a comprehensive understanding of HR functions
  • Education and Experience Combination:
  • Consideration of candidates with an equivalent combination of education and practical experience, showcasing flexibility in assessing varied backgrounds

Salary

  • $55,000 annual salary

Proposed Hours + Travel

  • Monday – Friday; 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m
  • FT -40 hours per week
  • Location: 1800 Sullivan Road, Atlanta, GA 30337
