Duties
- Develops and presents workshops, webinars, and field trips to support the dissemination of educational resources from the Statistics in Schools (SIS) program.
- Conducts program planning, coordination, and implementation of outreach efforts to the educational community (schools, teachers, administrators, etc.) to increase the statistical and civic literacy of students through the awareness and use of SIS.
- Initiates and maintains relationships with national education partners.
- Develops a comprehensive plan to inform and train teachers (new teachers as well as professional development for current teachers) in using census data and resources from Statistics in Schools.
- Researches Census data and works with Census Bureau subject matter experts to update current SIS resources.
- Creates new classroom materials using census data to reflect current standards and practices used in today’s classroom.
- Presents SIS resources to students in a variety of settings including classroom visits, field trips, after school programs and data camps.

PROGRAM ANALYST, 0343-7, FPL GS-12 positions within the Census Bureau in the same geographical location with the same qualifications and specialized experience.
Specialized experience for the GS-07, you must have one year of experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-05 grade level in the Federal services. Experience for this position includes, working with students one on one or in group settings; assisting with presenting educational resources to students; understanding how educational content for use in the classroom is developed; and assisting in presenting to a variety of audiences.
Education:1 full year of graduate level education
or superior academic achievement.

Additional information
If hired for this position with the Census Bureau, at its headquarters office located in Suitland, Maryland, you will be expected to temporarily telework to maximum extent while the headquarters building is being renovated. Once renovations are completed for your area, you will be notified when to return to the office. At that time, you will be expected to work from your duty station, and you may be eligible to telework, up to 8 days a pay period depending on your respective work schedule, with approval from your supervisor.
