Job Description:
Performs a variety of electrical trade functions such as the installation, maintenance, or repair of equipment for the generation, distribution, or utilization of electric energy. Work normally involves installing, maintaining, or repairing a variety of electrical equipment, such as motors, generators, transformers, switchboards, controllers, circuit breakers, and cable runs; working from blueprints, drawings, layouts, or other specifications; locating and diagnosing trouble in the electrical system or equipment, using a variety of electrician’s hand tools, and measuring and testing instruments. Hire will be required to join the IBEW Union.
Essential Functions:
- Ability to work with blueprints, diagrams, sketches, and symbols. Must have an understanding of work item specifications, electrical installation standards, processes and materials.
- Review specifications, references, and schedules of assigned work items.
- Communicate verbally, or in writing, all deviations identified in the specified scope of work. Originate Inspection Deficiency reports (IDR’s).
- Ensure all work activities, by helpers, is performed in accordance with safety, quality, and industries standards.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Must be able to fulfill job requirements as directed by management.
Qualifications:
- High school graduate or equivalent, and minimum three (2) years shipboard Electrical experience
