General Summary

The SAG-AFTRA Health Plan and SAG-Producers Pension Plan (the Plans) provide health and pension benefits to SAG-AFTRA members based on earnings thresholds. The Contributions Management Department is vital in ensuring the timely processing of employer contributions and participant earnings, which are essential for establishing health eligibility and providing retirement benefits.

This position is responsible for overseeing staff performance and managing all departmental processes and procedures while championing a culture of continuous improvement. The manager will work closely with executive management to establish and achieve departmental and individual goals, with a keen focus on operational excellence, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.

The successful manager will be dedicated to fostering an exceptional experience for every interaction, both internal and external. They will inspire and motivate team members to surpass their potential, driving the development and implementation of best practices. This role requires the exercise of independent judgment and discretion in developing and implementing departmental systems and procedures, ensuring alignment with the Plans’ guiding principles. The manager will also leverage data-driven insights to optimize resource utilization, maintain strong relationships with other departmental and executive leaders, and contribute to compliance through participation in annual audits.

Essential Job Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day management oversight of staff and provide direction on operational issues including but not limited to motivating and inspiring team members to surpass their potential
  • Develop and administer operating plans which meet or exceed business goals and create operational excellence; recommend enhancement to internal operations architecture as needed
  • Create and maintain effective staff performance programs which measure and assess individual and collective performance and establish performance benchmarks
  • Build and implement representative training programs which measure performance and define a development plan for every staff member
  • Establish and manage performance through regular evaluation of Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) which ensure customer satisfaction, efficiency and operational excellence
  • Establish and maintain data-driven workforce management systems and procedures which optimize resource utilization
  • Build strong working relationships with other departmental and executive leaders
  • Balance resources and ensures that investments in technology and people are fully leveraged
  • Participate in the annual audits to ensure prompt and accurate compliance, including answering questions and ensuring resolution of open issues
  • Generate, analyze, and provide observations on earnings and contribution reports for trustees, executives, and senior management
  • Implement new provisions related to pension and health reporting of approved Collective Bargaining Agreements (“CBA”)
  • Work with Accounting to identify trends associated with contributions and minimize delays on processing of contributions
  • Liaison to studios and payroll houses regarding reporting guidelines and requirements

Minimum qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 4+ years’ experience in a team leader or supervisory role

Preferred qualifications

  • Knowledge of Multi-Employer Plans

  • Skill in Microsoft Office - Word, Excel, Outlook
  • Understanding of HIPAA privacy laws
  • Ability to quickly gain knowledge of the Plans’ collective bargaining agreements
  • Ability to work with individuals at all levels of the organization
