Job Summary

A Unit Coordinator II provides clerical support to the Unit, including communication of authorized

physician orders to ancillary departments, maintenance of patients medical records, operation of

automated data entry systems, and performance of receptionist duties for patients, family members and

visitors to the unit. Works closely with other members of the nursing team to assure that physicians

orders are transmitted promptly and efficiently and that necessary supplies are available when needed.

Monitors telemetry units and collaborates with the licensed staff to respond to changes in patients

cardiac rhythms or to life threatening arrhythmias.

The Hospital Unit Service Coordinator (HUSC), under direction of the Patient Care Unit Manger, Nursing Supervisor or Charge Nurse, functions as the focal communications source within the patient care unit and performs administrative functions directed toward positive patient care outcomes. All patient care team members are responsible to meet patient needs, demonstrate willingness to learn new skills, and foster a harmonious work environment in which high quality patient care and customer service is consistently provided. Team members promote a cooperative working relationship with each other, physicians, other disciplines and the public by facilitating and enhancing communication, displaying honesty and respect, displaying sensitivity to cultural differences, and expressing and accepting feedback in a professional manner.

The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.

Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.

The salary range for this position is $31.96 - $39.85 (Hourly Rate).

Required Qualifications

  • High School graduate or equivalen
  • American Heart Association CPR/BLS

Preferred Qualifications

  • Unit Clerk experience Ability to use office equipment
  • Advanced EKG Interpretation
