Job Summary
The Service Coordinator, under the direction of the Registered Nurse, will participate as an integral member of the patient care team. The Service Coordinator performs multiple support functions directed toward improved efficiencies in the OR and positive patient care outcomes.
All patient care team members are responsible to meet patient needs, demonstrate a willingness to learn new skills, and foster a harmonious work environment in which high-quality patient care and customer service are consistently provided.

Please note: The compensation ranges listed online for roles not covered by a bargaining unit agreement are very wide, however a job offer will typically fall in the range of 80% - 120% of the established mid-point. An offer will take into consideration the experience of the final candidate AND the current salary level of individuals working at UCSF in a similar role.
For roles covered by a bargaining unit agreement, there will be specific rules about where a new hire would be placed on the range.

Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Ability to understand and communicate effectively in English both orally and in writing
- Basic mathematical skills to quickly and accurately add, subtract, divide, and multiply whole numbers and decimals manually or using a calculator
- Ability to work independently with good organizational skills
- Ability to work within a team
- Must possess good communication skills
- Ability to think critically and proactively to support the OR team
- Ability to prioritize and multi-task to support multiple Surgeons and staff
- Ability to work in a fast-paced complex environment
- Must be able to see well and read in dim light
- Must have manual dexterity to manipulate small equipment including, but not limited to, twisting bulbs, turning dials, changing batteries, and pushing buttons; able to move in confined spaces. Must be able to repetitively lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds
- Ability to satisfactorily perform job duties as defined in the job description
- Willingness to be taught/learn new skills
Preferred Qualifications
- One year of operating room or patient care setting experience
