The Financial and Customer Support Technician position specializes in fiscal knowledge/skills and includes processing numerous financial documents, following purchasing procedures, paying of purchase orders, and authorizations. This position requires attention to detail and accuracy as it supports the participant’s employment plan by coordinating the purchasing of goods and services. Additionally, this position provides fiscal support for vocational counselors and other staff on the team including referral information for other required services for participants or potential participants.

This position will be based out of the Apple Valley office. Travel is required within the service area to assist participants with services (e.g., purchasing of goods at local vendors) up to five (5) days per week.

This position is telework eligible and is occasionally required to be on-site at the office. Staff are provided with the tools and equipment to be successful in a virtual work environment and may telework from anywhere in Minnesota or a neighboring state. Please note, the telework policy could change with notice based on business needs.

  • Hiring Incentive: The successful incumbent of this position may be eligible for a hiring incentive of $5,000 paid out in two (2) lump sums following the completion of the required probationary period and following two (2) years of successful service in the role

Minimum Qualifications

  • Skill in customer service sufficient to provide prompt and accurate information to customers in person, on the phone, and through email and other written or electronic correspondence
  • Knowledge of customer service practices and principles sufficient to identify each customer’s needs, meet quality standards for services, that result in customer satisfaction
  • Skill in math sufficient to calculate totals, averages, and percentages of numbers and/or data
  • Skill in data entry sufficient to read source documents and enter data in specific databases or tracking systems
  • Knowledge of data entry procedures and systems, such as Microsoft Office or similar data entry systems
  • Skill in accounting sufficient to review, analyze and verify financial records, calculate monthly fees, and prepare financial summaries and reports
  • Incumbent must maintain valid driver's license and insurance OR have other reliable transportation

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in providing services to people with disabilities
  • Experience in working with StateWide Integrated Financial Tools (SWIFT) or other accounting systems, and Workforce One platform or other online case management platforms
  • Experience in developing and maintaining relationships with diverse populations such as Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) and Native American populations
  • Ability to communicate in a second language (specifically American Sign Language, Somali, Hmong, or Spanish)
