Responsibilities

  • Source, interview, and recommend qualified candidates to fill permanent and temporary positions in a timely and cost-effective manner; assess candidate qualifications based on behavioral interviews, job requirements, and pre-employment testing results
  • Partner with Hiring Managers to understand departmental needs and proper qualifications of candidates; screen and provide a pipeline of quality candidates for selection
  • Ensure adherence to CBA policies and procedures relating to internal promotions and transfers
  • Record all recruitment and hiring activity in Applicant Tracking System for information retention and reports
  • Provide regular updates on position status to Hiring Managers, agencies, and job candidates; schedule interviews, conduct background checks, and extend verbal/written job offers
  • Perform additional duties and projects as directed by management

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in human resources, Business Administration, or relevant major required
  • Minimum two (2) years recruiting experience to include sourcing, interviewing, and assessing job applicants required; experience recruiting temporary and seasonal positions highly preferred
  • Demonstrated knowledge of behavioral interviewing techniques and effective sourcing strategies
  • Must have experience working in a Human Resources department, experience working in a Union environment a plus
  • Ability to develop and cultivate effective working relationships with all levels of staff, Hiring Managers, and outside vendors i.e. Search Firms, and temporary agencies
  • Experience working with applicant tracking systems (i.e Taleo) highly preferred
  • Professional appearance and excellent oral/written communication skills a must to accurately and professionally communicate with management, applicants, and employees
  • Good critical thinking capabilities; ability to perform complex analysis and identify trends
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines and handle competing priorities
