Job Summary
The Health Records Clerk performs the clerical procedures in the Health Records Department, such as assembling and filling all patients records and documents, general reception duties, answering telephone calls, photocopying patient records, disseminating reports. Other duties include: document preparation, scanning, indexing and quality control in a electronic record environment. The Health Records Clerk complies with the Health and Safety Standards for the hospital and is proactive in promoting a safe work environment.
Qualifications
Prior experience dealing with patients and health professionals an asset
Previous Health Records Experience - Preferred
Excellent interpersonal communication skills – required;
Bilingualism – preferred;
Ability to work effectively within a collaborative team environment
General good health and a level of fitness appropriate for the demands of the position.
Education/Training Experience
Grade 12 education – required
Medical Terminology – required (will be tested)
