SENIOR – MEDICAL RADIATION TECHNOLOGIST, MAMMOGRAPHY

POSITION DESCRIPTION: The Senior Mammography Medical Radiation Technologist (MRT), works as a member of the interdisciplinary team, providing professional expertise and is responsible for the efficient and effective day-to-day functions of the Mammography department at Haliburton Highlands Health Services (HHHS).
QUALIFICATIONS: Current registration in good standing with the College of Medical Radiation & Imaging Technologists of Canada (CMRITO). Current CPR certification. Successful completion of Breast Imaging I and Breast Imaging 2. Certificate in Breast Imaging preferred. Registration with the Canadian association of Medical Radiation Technologists/ Ontario Association of Medical Radiation Sciences (CAMRT/OAMRS) preferred. Minimum five (5) years’ experience in Breast Imaging. Leadership experience is an asset.
SKILLS/ABILITIES: Computer experience in a windows environment. Demonstrates excellent problem solving, decision making and critical thinking skills. Demonstrated the ability to deal effectively and cooperatively with all levels of staff, patients and the public. Demonstrated excellent communication and time management skills. Demonstrated positive work record and good attendance record. Position involves patient transport and pushing/pulling mobile equipment.
In addition, the successful candidate must be available to work day, evening and night shifts, along with weekends and statutory holidays. An ability to attend work on a consistent basis is also a requirement.
