About The Position

The Detention Custodian is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and upkeep of the Juvenile Justice Center. This role involves performing a variety of custodial tasks, including sweeping, mopping, sanitizing, and general cleaning of facility areas to ensure a safe and hygienic environment. The Detention Custodian also operates cleaning equipment, manages the disposal of waste, restocks supplies, and addresses any maintenance needs within the facility. In addition to routine cleaning, this position may involve responding to urgent custodial requests and performing related duties as assigned by the supervisor. Attention to detail, reliability, and the ability to work independently in a secure environment are essential for success in this role.

About The Division

The mission of Facilities Services is to provide safe, functional, clean, and attractive environment for all staff and members of the community that visit our facilities. Operating under the Department of County Administration, our team of employees are responsible for operation and maintenance of all county owned buildings, utilities, and grounds as well as custodial and cleaning services. Â

Schedule:Â Monday - Friday; 4:00am - 12:00pm.

Training

  • Formal or informal education or training which ensures the ability to read and write at a level necessary for successful job performance.Â

Experience

  • Two years of responsible janitorial or custodial experience.
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training that will demonstrate the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying.

Special Requirements

  • Possession of a valid Oregon Driver's license at time of appointment.
  • Incumbents must successfully pass a criminal offender record check.
