Job Summary
Reporting to the Coordinator, Support Services, Department of Diagnostic Imaging or designate, the Diagnostic Imaging Clerk is responsible for the reception and the preparation of the requisition order forms prior to the examination of the patient; electronic booking of inpatient and outpatient examinations, filing and maintenance of patient records. Requests from physicians and other institutions are handled on a daily basis. General office work in the department e.g. records, correspondence and filing. The Diagnostic Imaging Clerk complies with the Occupational Health and Safety Standards for the hospital and is proactive in promoting a safe work environment.
Qualifications
Computer literacy – preferred
Windows training - preferred
Excellent organizational abilities and initiative;
Ability to work effectively within a collaborative team environment
General good health and a level of fitness appropriate for the demands of the position
Education/Training Experience
Minimum of a grade 12 education or equivalent – required
Medical Terminology (will be tested) – required;
Alphanumeric Data Entry Speed 125 characters per minute and 90% accuracy - required (accuracy and speed will be tested)
