Position Summary
Job Type: Part-Time
Starting Hourly Pay: $15.00
Students Will Work Up To 15 Hours Per Week At The BWL, January 27, 2025 - May 16, 2025. While At Work, Students Will Gain Practical Job Experience In One Of The Following Areas
- Automated Metering Infrastructure (AMI) Helper
- Customer Service Representative Helper
- Cybersecurity Helper (IT)
- Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) Helper
- Human Resources (HR) Helper
- Information Technology (IT) Helper
- Maintenance Mechanic (2)
- Operations Technology (OT) Helper
- Power Plant Helper/REO
- Project Engineering Dept. (PED) Helper (2)
- Purchasing/Supply Chain Helper
- Safety Technician Helper
- Water Engineering Helper
- Water Production Helper (2)
- Work Management Helper
Works side-by-side with assigned mentor at all times.
Works in BWL plant/office building daily, learning skilled/unskilled/professional jobs integral to the utility industry.
Performs departmental duties as assigned by mentor.
Utilizes personal computer software and equipment to complete work assignments.
Must attend workplace safety training upon hire.
Job Specifications
- Must be in a senior status at the start of the program, January 2025.
- Must be available to work weekday mornings, January-May 2025.
- Must be drug free (pre-employment drug testing is mandatory).
- Must pass multi-stage screening process.
- Must have good oral and written communication skills.
- Must be at least 17 years old by January 1, 2025.
- Minimum GPA of 2.0.
- Must have transportation to and from work.
Physical Requirements / Working Conditions (may vary by job location/classification):
- Frequently required to sit, talk, hear and listen, walk and climb stairs.
- Ability to traverse uneven terrain.
- Ability to effectively communicate in writing and orally.
- Ability to enter and retrieve data from computerized, typed and written sources.
- Normal office environment.
- Some field work and standing.
- May be required to travel between field locations.
- All outdoor temperature and humidity ranges.
- Occasional exposure to dust and noise.
