As part of the Hydro Operations team at the Mactaquac Generating Station, the Plant Operator is responsible for the safe operation for all the hydro generating units and auxiliary equipment in order to maintain the efficient production and continuous flow of electricity to meet system operating requirements during normal, abnormal and emergency conditions.
Key Functions Include
- Provide safe working conditions by administering GS-050 Standard procedures and constantly promote plant safety work practices as a Work Control Operator.
- Operate, maintain, and routinely inspect various components that make up the Mactaquac Generating Station as well as the remote monitoring of various Hydro Generating Stations.
- Create and maintain all procedures related to the operation of all systems and equipment for all Hydro Stations within the NB Power fleet.
Our ideal teammates will possess a Power Engineering Technology Diploma
An equivalent combination of training and experience will be considered. Subject to competition response, the minimum qualifications may be modified.
An Eligibility List generated from this competition may be used to fill future vacancies at the same level within a period of up to 12 months.
