Location:- Detroit Michigan 48211-2002 United States


Daily Schedule/Shift:-

1st shift 6am-2:30pm

2nd shift: 2pm-10:30pm

3rd shift: 10:00pm-6:30am

Monday- Sunday

Candidate needs to be flexible and working weekends! The candidate can work every weekend if they want to, but expectation will be working every other weekend. It is a rotating shift. They will stay on the shift for roughly a year per manager

Job Description:

Maintenance Group Leaders:

The Maintenance Group Leader will be responsible for leading a group of Skilled employees to troubleshoot and repair complex equipment and processes.

This role requires you to consistently administer National and Local Agreement between Client and the United Auto Workers Union. The work is of a technical nature and requires you to use independent judgment within the limits of Global Manufacturing Systems, focusing on Safety, People, Quality, Responsiveness, Cost, and Environment (SPQRCE).

Selected candidates will have the opportunity to learn new skills as well as influencing the development of manufacturing processes to support this historical and game-changing progression to electric and autonomous vehicles.

What You'll Do (Responsibilities):

• Read and react to the manufacturing daily plan in the moment

• Manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities

• The ability to manage change and navigate ambiguity

• Drive accountability through people and processes which may require difficult conversations in a unionized environment

• Demonstrate a high level of interpersonal skills and work effectively with all levels of the organization

• Demonstrate a high analytical ability to solve complex problems

• Conduct appropriate checks and tests, and communicate evaluation of results

• Recommends solutions to problems

• Responsible for preventative maintenance and diagnosis of equipment malfunctions

• Meets schedule and quality requirements

• Complies with the terms of local and national labor agreements

• Implements divisional and corporate policies and safety and good housekeeping practices

• Maintain frequent contact and collaboration with others outside of the work group

• Responsible for the effective use of personnel, material and equipment

• Establishes a course of action to accomplish completion of the job and/or project

• Has knowledge and ability to implement GMS principles

Additional Description

Your Skills and Abilities (Required Qualifications):

• One year of direct team supervisory experience or at least 5 months as an internal per diem group leader

• Ability to read and understand electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic blueprints

• Ability to coordinate, manage, address performance concerns, and lead people in a fast-paced environment

• Ability to solve complex problems and work in a fast-paced environment

• Strong interpersonal skills, ability to manage conflict and make decisions in ambiguous fast-paced environment

• Basic computer proficiency (i.e. Microsoft Word, typing, email etc.)

• Must be willing to work weekends and rotating shifts

o High School Diploma or GED is required. Ideally if someone has engineering degree will fit for this role

• Years of experience:

o 5 to 10 years of like industry experience! Balance being in controls and being in supervisor position is ideal.

o Willing to look at someone with more years of experience and no degree.
