The Department of Radiology has an outstanding opportunity for a part-time Fiscal Specialist 1 (NE S SEIU 925 Non Supv)


The Fiscal Specialist 1 contributes to the growth and success of the Department of Radiology by executing the mission and vision. A successful candidate will promote general fiscal specialist activities within the Department of Radiology.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Fiscal Assignments (90%):

  • Oversee and update fiscal record-keeping systems, databases, and spreadsheets; review financial records to detect trends and help devise corrective measures.
  • Prepare expense reports for both travel and non-travel expenses; process miscellaneous payments for non-UW travelers; manage honorarium requests and address other related requests.
  • Create catalog and blanket requisitions, coordinate with buyers on contractual inquiries, and collaborate with UW Procurement to ensure timely transaction completion.
  • Utilize the ProCard for various purchases and assist departments such as IT, labs, and recharge centers. Review and verify ProCard transactions daily, attach required documentation, and keep records of returns and payments.
  • Manage purchasing records and address related issues; review, approve, and allocate purchases to the correct worktags and category; ensure adherence to departmental, institutional, and granting agency policies, rules, and regulations.
  • Organize electronic files on the shared drive and maintain accounting records, including ProCard receipts and reimbursement documents.
  • Support higher-level fiscal officers with accounting and reporting summary information, analyze financial reports, and develop procedures; assist in budget preparation for grants or program requests; may consult with funding agencies to resolve issues and interpret guidelines.Other Assignments (10%): This position will be responsible for maintenance of day to day office activities and will share responsibilities for facilities management, surplus, inventory, and special projects.Self/Team Development

  • Three years of fiscal record keeping experience, or equivalent education/experience DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Four year degree
  • Professional appearance and communication style
  • Experience with budget reconciliation
  • Intermediate Microsoft Excel experience (e.g. Pivot tables, if and lookup formulas, grouping, conditional formatting, hyperlinking, named ranges)
  • Ability to read, understand, and follow guidelines and policies.

CONDITITONS OF EMPLOYMENT
  • Schedule is normally within the hours of 8a to 5p, M-F but is not always fixed and workload does vary. The incumbent¹s first responsibility is to complete tasks rather than keep to a fixed schedule. Flexibility in schedule and intensity of work is necessary.
  • Position is suitable/eligible for a hybrid telework schedule.
  • Some travel between sites will be necessary by UW Health Services or other shuttles.
