Description
Job Summary:
Under direct supervision, perform a variety of linen duties to provide linen service to all hospital departments and medical offices as required following practice, routine or established procedure.
Essential Responsibilities
- Receive linen from commercial linen service; assist in unloading linen as required; inspect, count, sort, and store linen in appropriate storage areas.
- Assemble linen packs, including sheets, pillow cases, towels, etc.
- Distribute linen to appropriate hospital department according to linen requisitions and/or control sheets; box or wrap and label outlying clinics linen for delivery by hospital driver.
- Maintain cleanliness of linen room equipment, work tables, and work areas.
- Refer difficult linen problems to supervisor such as discrepancies in department requisitions, commercial linen service invoices, etc.
- Receive and place telephone calls, answer routine questions, and relay messages to appropriate personnel following practice, routine or established procedure.

Additional Requirements
- Ability to understand and follow oral and written instruction.
- Must have basic math skills in order to take and place linen orders and do inventory.
- Must be able to transport 200 pound linen carts and lift 25 pounds consistently throughout day.
- Must be able to be on feet for eight hours shift.
- Must work well with others.
