Conditions of Employment

Qualifications
Applicants must meet all qualifications and eligibility requirements by the closing date of the announcement including time-in-grade restrictions, specialized experience and/or education, as defined below.
Specialized Experience: To qualify for GS-09:
Have at least one (1) year of specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-07 level in Federal Service or equivalent responsibility in the private sector/pay systems that equipped me with the particular competencies to successfully perform as a Inventory Management Specialist. Such experience includes: 1) Performs inventory checks and maintain accuracy and control of supplies and equipment using automated IT supply/inventory database systems and computer-generated products; 2) Receives, handle, store, and coordinate delivery of supply and equipment using appropriate handling materials and conveyance; and 3) Interprets and apply appropriate guidelines for determining supply needs and forecasting requirements.
OR
Master's or equivalent graduate degree
OR
Two (2) full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree
OR
LL.B. or J.D., if related in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the work of the position, such as any field of study (Note: You must attach an eligible & entire copy of your transcript)
OR
Have an equivalent combination of successfully completed specialized experience and higher-level graduate education described above that makes up 100% of the qualifications required for the position.
Combining Education And Specialized Experience
Education and Specialized Experience can be combined to meet the minimum qualification requirements, as allowed in the applicable standard. Only Graduate Education more than 18 Semester Hours may be used to qualify applicants for this grade level. The education must have been obtained in an Accredited College or University and demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work. When combining education with experience, first determine the total qualifying Education as a percentage of the Education required for the grade level; then determine the applicant's Specialized Experience as a percentage of the Experience required for the grade level; finally, add the two percentages. The Total Percentage Must Equal At Least 100 Percent to qualify for this grade level.
Time In Grade
Merit Promotion (Current Federal) applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible, you must meet time-in-grade (TIG) requirements of 52 weeks of service at the next lower grade level in the normal line of progression for the position being filled. Applicants must have on year of specialized experience at the next lower grade to be considered for the higher grade (e.g. one year at the GS-07 grade level for consideration for the GS-09 grade level). This requirement must be met by the closing date of this announcement.

- This position requires occasional travel.
- This is a bargaining unit position aligned to the American Federation of Government Employees, Local 2341.
- This position required overtime and weekend work.
- This position may be eligible to telework up to four days per week, based on the duties of the position. This position may also be eligible for flexible work arrangements as determined by agency policy and any applicable collective bargaining agreements.

- Land Management Workforce Flexibility Act (LMWFA) provides current or former temporary or term employees of federal land management agencies opportunity to compete for permanent competitive service positions. Individuals must have more than 24 months of service without a break between appointments of two or more years.
