Firm Type: Law Firm, Experience: 2 Years, A law firm in New York City is seeking a Junior to Mid-Level Entertainment Attorney with 2+ years of transactional experience at a law firm. The ideal candidate will have an active license to practice law in New York and/or California, with a strong interest in the entertainment industry. They should possess experience in business and legal affairs related to content development, production, distribution, and financing, including negotiating and drafting various production and distribution agreements.Duties and Responsibilities:Negotiate and draft documentary/film/TV/podcast production agreements, including option/purchase, first look, development, shopping, above-the-line, co-production, production services, and host agreements.Draft and negotiate financing agreements and distribution agreements, including podcast ad-sales agreements.Review and interpret agreements governed by SAG/AFTRA, WGA, and DGA guild agreements.Advise clients on legal matters related to content creation, production, and distribution.Manage multiple high-volume clients simultaneously and assist in tracking and maintaining deal flow.Conduct legal research and provide analysis on entertainment industry trends and developments.Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure compliance with legal requirements and industry standards.Participate actively in business development activities and contribute to the firm's growth initiatives.Requirements:Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.Active license to practice law in New York and/or California.2+ years of transactional experience at a law firm, preferably with a focus on entertainment law.Strong understanding of entertainment industry practices, including content development, production, and distribution.Experience negotiating and drafting a variety of entertainment-related agreements.Familiarity with SAG/AFTRA, WGA, and DGA guild agreements is preferred.Excellent communication, negotiation, and drafting skills.Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.Education and Certifications:Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.Active license to practice law in New York and/or California.Skills:Strong negotiation and drafting skills for entertainment industry agreements.Ability to manage multiple clients and projects simultaneously.Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.Proficiency in legal research and analysis.Commitment to professional development and growth within the firm.Benefits:401(k) contribution.Client origination participation.Discretionary bonus.Opportunities for career advancement and professional development.
