Knight Material Technologies is currently seeking a full-time, traveling laborer to work at various customer locations. As an Acid-Resistant Laborer, you will specialize in working with materials and techniques specifically designed for corrosive and acidic processes. Responsibilities include the removal of damaged linings and support of the mason team for installation and repair of acid-resistant linings in various chemical processing and mining environments.

Acid Resistant Laborer

Reports to: Mason Foreman

Non - Exempt Position

Responsibilities:

  • Experience with acid-resistant materials such as acid-resistant bricks, tiles, mortars, and membranes.
  • Projects include acid-resistant flooring, walls, and process vessels.
  • Capabilities for following project specifications and blueprints.
  • Perform inspection and repair on acid-resistant linings to ensure durability and functionality over time.
  • Adhere to Knight and jobsite safety standards and procedures.
  • Coordinate with field supervision and project managers to ensure alignment with project requirements and schedules.
  • Maintain accurate records of materials used, work performed, and any inspections or testing conducted.

Requirements:

Preferred:

  • Familiar with installation of acid-resistant lining materials.
  • Proficient in masonry techniques and construction methods, with a focus on acid-resistant installations.
  • Knowledge and use of safety standards and procedures while working in chemical processing and mining environments.
  • Must be able to pass a background check and drug/alcohol testing.
  • Detail-Oriented: Ability to work with care and attention to detail.
  • Problem-Solving: Capacity to troubleshoot and solve issues.
  • Communication: Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members.
  • Must have a working knowledge of construction hand and electrical tools and equipment.
  • Must be able to read a tape measure.
  • Scaffold building experience is beneficial.

Education And Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be a journeyman construction laborer through the Laborers’ International Union of North America.
  • Previous experience working in a similar role within industrial, chemical, or manufacturing environments is highly advantageous.
  • Experience following safety standards and procedures in chemical processing or mining industries.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift heavy materials up to 50 lbs. without assistance and work in physically demanding conditions.
  • Tolerance to work in environments with chemical fumes and dust.
  • Able to work in CS, LOTO, WAH and possibility for respirator or supplied air conditions.
  • Have the ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
