Essential Job Duties:
Assumes responsibility for the timely and effective performance of maintenance procedures.
- Runs tests to ensure that equipment is operating properly. Ensures that parts and components produced meet or exceed product specifications.
- Schedules. Cleans, oils, fills tanks, and adjusts equipment to ensure smooth operations.
- Completes basic repairs on equipment and machines. Refers more difficult repairs to the Manager and recommends outside service providers.
- Identifies operational inefficiencies and makes recommendations for improvement.
- Conducts regular visual inspections of production equipment.
- Completes all maintenance functions in accordance with established procedures, policies, and safety regulations.
Assumes responsibility for the efficient, timely, and accurate completion of maintenance records.
- Updates maintenance log books.
- Completes paperwork for outside service referrals and repairs.
- Maintains files of operational guides for production equipment.
- Files invoices and receipts.
Assumes responsibility for maintaining effective communication, coordination, and working relations with area personnel.
- Meets the needs of Production personnel by completing maintenance functions in a timely manner.
- Makes suggestions to improve operational procedures as appropriate.
- Keeps management informed of area activities and of any significant equipment problems.
Assumes responsibility for related duties as required or assigned.
- Ensures that work area is clean, secure, and well maintained.
- Stays informed of maintenance requirements.
- Completes special projects as assigned.
PERFORMANCE MEASUREMENTS
- Equipment and machines are maintained in accordance with established schedules.
- Production goals are well supported by maintenance and repair activities. Scheduled downtime is carefully planned.
- Basic repairs are completed timely and effectively.
- Department paperwork and maintenance documentation is correct and appropriately filed.
- Good communication and effective coordination exist with Production personnel.
- Management is appropriately informed of area activities and significant problems.

Average Visual Abilities: Average, ordinary, visual acuity necessary to prepare or inspect documents or products or operate machinery.
Physical Strength: Standing, walking, bending, lifting, stooping, crouching, kneeling intermittently, ability to lift up to 50lbs
WORKING CONDITIONS
Worker subject to changing inside temperature (such as freezers or cold rooms).
Worker subject to fumes, odors, dusts, gases, and/or poor ventilation that affect the skin or respiratory system.

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed, but, uninvolved instructions and to deal with problems that include a few variables.
Mathematics Ability:
Ability to perform very basic math skills including adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing two digit numbers; the four basic arithmetic operations with money; and operations with units such as inch, foot, yard; ounce, and pound (or their metric counterparts).
Language Ability:
Ability to read, speak and write English proficiently
Ability to read and understand directions
Ability to communicate in comprehensive sentences
Qualifications
Education/Certification: High school degree or equivalent; training in maintenance and repair operations and safety certification may be required.
Required knowledge:
Knowledge of basic mechanics
Knowledge of machine testing procedures
Understanding of equipment maintenance requirements
Solid problem-solving skills
Good oral communication abilities
Able to use all related mechanical and testing equipment
