Local 49 of the International Union of Operating Engineers (IUOE) is seeking an experienced and highly motivated full-time Administrative Assistant in the Virginia, Minnesota office.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Providing administrative support to ensure efficient operation of the office.
- Following the direction of leadership.
- Receiving and placing numerous phone calls daily.
- Maintains filing systems.
- Responsible for confidential material.
- Typing contracts, proposals, and reports.
- Ensures facility stays in good, clean working order.
- Maintains office supplies and coordinates maintenance of office equipment.
- Maintain solid, business-like working relationships with Vendors, Contractors, Members, Retirees, and others by handling all inquiries and concerns with speed and professionalism.
- Ability to effectively communicate via phone and email to ensure all Administrative Assistant duties are communicated accurately and efficiently.
- Flexible in accepting assignments of various support tasks in a frequently changing work environment.
- Managing multiple priorities while meeting deadlines.
- Maintain member database and dispatch system.
- Other related duties and responsibilities as assigned or required to meet the needs of the organization.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Performing duties independently and self-motivated
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite that includes Outlook, Share Point, Word, Excel
- Professional and courteous telephone demeaner
- Effective problem-solving skills
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Five or more years of administrative support experience
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times
This is a union position covered by a collective bargaining agreement represented by OPEIU Local 12. Excellent benefits based on OPEIU Local 12 membership include:
- Starting rate of pay of $27.64 an hour with consistent increases based on months of service
