POSITION SUMMARY: Develop cross-channel digital communications programs that support the retention and growth of NEA members and prospective members, and engage members, supporters, and the general public to build the NEA brand and mobilize in support of key organizational priorities. Define and create both organic and paid creative concepts and translate them into succinct and effective copy for email, social media, web content, and more. Oversee and contribute to the production, delivery, and QA of major email programs, social media content, text message, paid media content, and web pages.

MINIMUM EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Digital Media, Marketing, Public Relations or Communications, or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills may be acquired.. Master’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience is preferred. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Five years of professional work experience in digital media, communications, journalism, or digital organizing. Demonstrated understanding of how to build short-, mid-, and long-term digital campaigns incorporating email, social media, digital ads, online content, and SMS (traditional or Hustle) to accomplish organizing and advocacy goals. Demonstrated experience with online content strategy, implementation, assessment, and project management. OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Experience applying a strong understanding of digital best practices to all initiatives, including social and email writing, testing, recruitment, community management, and reporting.
SELECTION CRITERIA: Tier 1 (Essential) Proven experience developing cross-channel digital communications programs. Experience with online content strategy, organization and management. Demonstrated knowledge in building short-, mid-, and long-term digital campaigns. Proven experience with online content strategy, implementation, assessment, and project management. Tier 2 (Significant): Experience with writing and editing digital content. Experience with collecting and analyzing data for online campaigns and communications strategies. Demonstrated flexibility and ability to handle multiple and complex tasks simultaneously under tight timeframes and changing priorities/conditions. Demonstrated experience working independently, collaboratively, and in a team environment. Successful references. Tier 3 (Desirable): A strong understanding of digital best practices to all initiatives, including social and email writing, testing, recruitment, community management, and reporting. Knowledge of the mission and strategic focus of NEA’s Center for Communications.
