Job Title: Human Resources Manager
Location: Omaha
Reporting to: Human Resources Director
Responsibilities
- Responsible for labor relations with the local UFCW, the collective bargaining agreement administration, and the grievance process.
- Provide facility supervision with advice and counsel on personnel issues.
- Administer unemployment claims and attend unemployment hearings.
- Ensure regulatory compliance with ADA, FMLA, EEOC, etc.
- Stay current on recent Federal, State, and case law changes and monitor labor law updates for changes that affect HR.
- Propose, publish, and administer personnel policies.
Process and implement formal disciplinary action against employees.
- Initiate termination procedures and put them into action as needed
Prepare and maintain records and procedures for controlling.
- personnel transactions and reporting personnel data
- Maintain HRIS integrity and systems.
- Respond to any questions or requests by governmental agencies (including employee complaints) and represent the company at hearings.
- Establish, evaluate, and maintain departmental reports and key indicators.
- Recommend new approaches, policies, and procedures to improve the HR department's efficiency and its services.
- Direct local benefits administration, enrollment, and open enrollment meetings
- Supervise the HR staff.
- Manage internal communications, including bulletin boards, company newsletters, etc.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required in Human Resource Management or related field, preferred but not required
- Prior experience in a unionized environment
- 3+ years of experience in Human Resources
- 2-3 years of experience in meat processing or other manufacturing setting, preferred but not required
- Strong communication and public speaking skills
- Bilingual skills preferred
