The SAG-AFTRA Health Plan and SAG-Producers Pension Plan (the Plans) provide health and pension benefits to SAG-AFTRA members based on earnings thresholds. The Pension Department is responsible for servicing the retirement benefits of our participants.
We are seeking a proactive Pension Benefit Systems Specialist to enhance the efficiency of our Pension Benefit Operations by managing and supporting critical business systems. You’ll collaborate with the operations team to maintain seamless pension processes, troubleshoot system issues, and support data-driven decision-making, acting as a key liaison with IT. Essential Job Functions
- Partner with Pension Benefit Operations management to ensure system functionality supports business processes and pension plan requirements.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for system-related issues, resolving operational disruptions and coordinating with IT for technical solutions.
- Update system variables and configurations to reflect pension plan rules, regulatory changes, and operational needs.
- Conduct user acceptance testing (UAT) for system updates, verifying functionality aligns with business operations and workflow requirements.
- Perform regular audits of system performance to ensure data accuracy and compliance with pension regulations, identifying opportunities to optimize operational processes.
- Work with management to develop and monitor productivity metrics, generating reports to improve operational performance and client outcomes.
- Document system processes and operational workflows to support training and maintain consistency across the business unit.
- Train and support team members on system use, fostering adoption to streamline pension administration tasks.
Education/Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, IT, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 2-4 years of experience in pension operations, business systems support, or a related role; candidates with less experience but strong potential are encouraged to apply.
- Familiarity with pension administration systems or financial operations software is a plus.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot system issues and communicate solutions effectively.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Teams); experience with data analysis tools (e.g., SQL, Tableau) or testing tools is an advantage.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail for managing audits, documentation, training, and cross-team collaboration.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a hybrid setting (3 days in-office, 2 days remote).
- Eagerness to learn and adapt; knowledge of pension plan operations is a bonus.
