REPORTS TO: Chairperson, Business and Computer Science
Principal Responsibilities
- Documents, reports on, and follows through to solution of complex technical problems with lab hardware and software.
- Gathers and documents complex requirements for upgrade of the laboratory disk image from department faculty and chair and coordinates the deployment and testing of a prototype lab image.
- Schedules the deployment of a new lab image each semester to the laboratories to minimize disruption of classes.
- Coordinates the administrative details of the monthly meetings to assure a smooth flow of requirements.
- Assists the Chairperson in the preparation of departmental operating and minor capital budgets to sustain and improve lab operation.
- Maintains and secures all laboratory equipment and supplies.
- Ensures that all lab equipment is started up and shut down properly.
- Hires, trains, schedules, and supervises student technical aids helping to support lab operation.
- Maintains and distributes appropriate lab documentation.
- Assigns login numbers and maintains appropriate records.
- Maintains proper housekeeping throughout laboratory areas.
- Performs Internet research to support lab and department operation.
- Performs other duties as assigned that are appropriate to the position.
Minumum Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Two (2) years of work experience in a computer laboratory environment
- Ability to interact professionally with employees and the public
- Strong analytical skills, organizational skills and motivation
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- Strong computer skills with knowledge of Windows, Linux, Office, and Open-Source applications
- Proficiency doing research on the Internet
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, or related area

SCHEDULE: Monday - Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
RETIREMENT: Pension Eligible
