Essential Functions

An employee in this classification is required to perform some or all of the following duties, however these do not include all of the tasks which the employee may be expected to perform: design and implement overall recruiting strategy; consult with managers to discover staff requirements and specific job objectives; source candidates through online channels and social media; assist with screening applicants; assist hiring manager with interviewing as requested; attend job fairs and career events; develop and maintain professional relationships with college, university, and community college placement offices as a source to generate qualified applicants; build talent pipelines for current and future hiring needs by maintaining relationships with past applicants and potential candidates; stay up-to-date with current recruiting methods; track and report key recruiting metrics, such as turnover and retention rates to forecast hiring needs; coordinate with HR and hiring managers to ensure a smooth onboarding process for new hires; ensure all recruiting practices comply with applicable labor laws, EEO, and organizational policies; contribute to employer branding initiatives to promote the organization as an employer of choice (social media and recruiting events); utilize applicant tracking systems (ATS) and HR databases to manage candidate information efficiently.

Supervisory Responsibilities

There are no supervisory responsibilities with this position. This position receives supervision from the Human Resource Manager/Designee.

Minimum Qualifications

Technical Skills

  • Education:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field
  • Licensure:
  • Valid Michigan Driver’s license
  • Experience/Skills:
  • Knowledge of HR practices and labor laws
  • Experience conducting/coordinating interviews using various interview formats (e.g. phone, structured, group)
  • Proficiency with applicant tracking systems, job platforms, (e.g. LinkedIn, Indeed, ZipRecruiter, etc.)
  • Demonstrated experience using a HR recruiting software
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Other:
  • Must have access to transportation
  • Must be willing to attend out of county activities/meetings
  • Must be willing to work evenings and weekends

  • Experience recruiting for behavioral health positions (e.g., clinicians, case managers, peer support specialists, nurses, and psychiatrists
  • Lived experience with behavioral health issues
  • Experience with ADP Recruitment Module

Personal Demands

Personal demands refer to the physical demands, such as awkward positions, heavy lifting, etc., and the mental demands, such as concentration, attention, perception, etc.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee would expect light, physical demand, such as frequent standing or walking and occasional lifting or moving of items up to 25 pounds. The position requires sustained attention to detail, including reviewing documents, observing data, or monitoring schedules and deadlines.

Work Environment

The work environment is generally professional and comfortable. The employee can expect good lighting, ventilation, and a reasonable noise level. Disagreeable environmental elements such as extreme temperatures, fumes, or excessive noise are negligible or absent.
