Egan Company is seeking
Security Technicians for customer opportunities around the Greater Twin Cities area. This is a union position with top-rate wages, healthcare, retirement and vacation benefits. We are looking for independent, customer-service-oriented individuals who will consistently adhere to safety standards.
Responsibilities
The basic responsibilities of the
Security Technician include but are not limited to the following:
- Installation, service, or repair of specified Access, Security, and CCTV systems and peripheral devices
- Programming various security systems – Lenel, S2, Sielox, Bosch experience is a plus
- Assist with the start-up and commissioning of new equipment or system installation
- Overcome challenges on retrofits and new installations
- Train and instruct new users on a life safety equipment
- Daily communication with the Project Manager
- Completion of daily safety and additional documents
Position Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required
- Experience installing and programming Fire Alarm Systems
- Valid MN Power Limited Technician license.
- NICET Certification is preferred (we can assist you in attaining this certification)
- Knowledge of current codes when applicable
- Valid driver’s license - travel between jobsites is required
- 3-year Limited Energy JATC training or equivalent in time worked in the industry
- Current IBEW Member or willingness to join the local IBEW
- Overtime may be required depending on the workload

- Ability to read and mark up prints
- Ability to lead and direct a team
- Effective interpersonal and customer service skills
- Ability to stand or sit for extended periods of time
- Ability to lift and carry 40 pounds (alone) or 50 to 85 pounds with assistance (team)
- Ability to climb a ladder and work with heights
- Highly motivated and ability to multi-task
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision
- Attention to detail, organization, and time management skills
- Proficiency in using hand and power tools associated with the job in a safe manner
- Good hand dexterity and strength
