Requirements
Associate’s degree, the equivalent number of college credits or have successfully passed the paraprofessional assessment exam
A minimum of 12 college credits in Early Childhood Education to work in a Pre-K classroom
Demonstrates aptitude for work to be performed
Bilingual/Bicultural (as appropriate)
Demonstrates ability to relate well with staff and the public
Demonstrates ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing
Requires basic computer skills
Ability to provide excellent attendance and punctuality on a daily basis
Responsibilities
Serves under the direct supervision of the teacher or curriculum specialist in supplementing instruction
Assists in the assessment of students
Assists in the registration, clerical and other routine duties that improve the classroom/school organization, management and atmosphere
Attends in-service workshops and staff meetings where job related, as per contract
Responsible for lunchroom duty
Performs other related duties as assigned
