Starting Pay: $57.4803 Hourly ($119,559)
Step A: $60.3538 Hourly ($125,536)
Step B: $63.3716 Hourly ($131,813)
Step C: $67.1952 Hourly ($139,766)
Minimum Qualifications
Graduation from an accredited law school
-AND- a member of the State Bar of Michigan in good standing;
Ten (10) years’ legal practice (lawyer, judge or referee). Of those ten years:
At least five (5) years’ experience prosecuting criminal cases or in a governmental law office;
Of those five (5) years, at least three (3) years’ experience in the trial of felony cases amounting to 10 criminal jury trials to verdict or 25 delinquency/neglect abuse trials;
Two (2) years’ experience teaching at any level or providing training to law enforcement, prosecutors or other criminal justice partner agencies, such as DHHS;
- AND-
- Service to a governing board of a non-profit agency, community group, professional group, religious group or Governmental board or body;
- OR-
- Service as an athletic coach of an organized sporting group at any level -OR- as a referee of any organized sporting group at any level -OR- a Scout Troop Leader at any level -OR- prior oversight, training and mentorship responsibilities to interns/externs or junior staff.

Any combination of A and B.
Special Requirements
Must complete management training within six (6) months of accepting position.
GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES: Works under the direct supervision of the Prosecutor and Chief Assistant Prosecutor; primary tasks are the oversight of staff (APA and support staff) and work product of their assigned division of the Prosecutor’s Office; work in conjunction with co-supervisors of other divisions and the clerical supervisors and advocate supervisor; will appear in court as required by their divisions workload and as assigned by the Prosecutor or Chief Assistant.
Statement Of Tasks
- Manages the workflow and supervises the staff of the varying divisions of the Prosecutor’s Office to which they may be assigned;
- Exemplifies and practices sound leadership and mentorship principles;
- Participates with Prosecutor’s Office Administration in the formulation, implementation and execution of office policy, both legal and general;
- Assists APA staff in conducting trials or other complex litigation matters;
- Conducts legal research;
- Serves as a liaison between the Prosecutor’s Office and the courts, community agencies, law enforcement agencies and other criminal justice partners at the direction of the elected Prosecutor;
- Serves on at least one committee of the Prosecuting Attorney’s Association as directed by the elected Prosecutor;
- Serves in a leadership role in at least one outside (the County) organization or in conjunction with the leadership team of Genesee County as directed by the elected Prosecutor;
- Prepares and handles cases in all courts in Genesee County.
