Position Summary

Leads a team of union represented communications technicians in the safe installation of IT communications infrastructure in variety of sites such network rooms, substations, offices, remote mountain locations, and communications towers. Provides leadership in the safe and efficient execution of network infrastructure builds while also managing costs. Performs safety reviews, quality assessments, and overall guidance in prioritization of work to achieve business operational dates. Can manage multiple priorities and support after hours/weekends during emergency events or incidents. Works to develop team through training and accountability. Understands bargaining unit contract and administers disciplinary action when appropriate. Must be able to travel to various areas within service territory as required.

PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity. We would not anticipate that the individual hired into this role would land at or near the top half of the range described below, but the decision will be dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.

A reasonable salary range is:

Bay Area Minimum: $128,000.00

Bay Area Maximum: $218,000.00

Job Responsibilities

  • Supports and ensures safe construction practices in the installation of IT infrastructure.
  • Assists crews with resolving or clearing obstacles that impede project delivery dates.
  • Work in Planisware project management tool to manage workload and commitments.
  • Must be able to work in dynamic environments with after hours and emergency support as required in support of utility operations.
  • Must be able to travel to remote areas to perform field safety and quality observations.
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and resources.
  • Ensures appropriate resources are assigned to each project/program to achieve required operational dates.
  • Ensures compliance to IT construction standards and utility regulatory requirements.
  • Provides annual reviews to crew members and quarterly reviews for apprentices.
  • Highly collaborative, able to work cross-functionally; possessing the ability to forge relationships and partner effectively with leaders, project managers, and engineering.
  • Manages crew for the efficient and safe installation of IT infrastructure in varied environments.
  • Monitors program results against technical specifications.
  • Provides performance feedback and leadership for staff of bargaining unit crew members.
  • Administers intent and spirit of IBEW 1245 contract as applicable.

Qualifications

Minimum:

  • Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or job-related discipline or equivalent experience
  • 3 years experience in project management, IT-Information Technology

Desired:

  • 5+ years experience in communications infrastructure construction methods.
  • 3+ years experience in supervisory role.
  • 3+ years experience managing bargaining unit coworkers.
