DEPARTMENT: POLICE DEPARTMENT
LOCATION: 3615 N. Grandview Drive, Peoria, IL
HOURS: 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. – Monday through Friday
The purpose of this position is to support the Greater Peoria Auto Crimes Task Force, under the direction of the Peoria Police Department Captain of Investigations and the Secretary of State Police Sergeant assigned to GPACT. Performs work of moderate to complex difficulty involving typing, filing, data entry, answering telephones, developing and preparing reports, forms and documents utilizing a variety of computer programs as required by the various divisions. Performs other generalized clerical and administrative duties. Provides information to departmental staff and the general public; operates various office equipment, and other duties as assigned.

Examples of Duties
GPACT Responsibility
- Assists GPACT staff with implementation strategies to
prevent and reduce auto thefts.
- Coordinates with law enforcement agencies to ensure a unified approach to combating auto-related crimes.
- Provides support to the City of Peoria Police Department in their daily activities ,as it relates to auto theft
prevention.
Conducts regular reviews of operational processes to identify areas for improvement.
Community Relations
:
- Establishes and maintains partnerships with community organizations to enhance public awareness and involvement in crime prevention. Organizes and participates in outreach programs to educate the community on auto crime prevention measures. Responds to community inquiries and concerns related to auto-related crimes, building positive relationships.
Additional Administrative Responsibility
Distributes resources to meet operational requirements and strategic goals.
Collaborate with external stakeholders to secure additional resources for the task force.
Schedules and coordinates meetings, ,briefings, and training sessions for the task force.
Maintains accurate records of investigations, ensuring compliance with legal and organizational requirements.
Prepares reports and presentations for internal and external audiences.
Answers phones, manages emails, and organizes office supplies.
Minimum Qualifications
One year certificate from an accredited college or technical school; over two years up to and including four years of progressively responsible related experience. Any combination of education, training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job considered.
Supplemental Information
Knowledge of correct English usage, including spelling, grammar, punctuation, and vocabulary; internal departmental policies and procedures; all computer applications and hardware related to performance of the essential functions of the job; standard business arithmetic, including percentages and decimals; and recordkeeping, report preparation, filing methods and records management techniques. Skill in typing from rough draft or printed text; analyzing and resolving office administrative situations and problems; using tact, discretion, initiative and independent judgment within established guidelines; researching, compiling and summarizing a variety of informational and statistical data and materials; and applying logical thinking to solve problems or accomplish tasks; to understand, interpret and communicate complicated policies, procedures and protocols. PENSION PROGRAM: Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund (IMRF): Ten years required for vesting. IMRF Death Benefit – Annual Salary after 1 year's service. IMRF Disability Benefit – 50% of Salary up to 30 months after 1 year's service.

1 to 5 Years of Service - 2 Weeks Paid Vacation
6 to 15 Years of Service - 2 Weeks and 1 additional day for every year of service
15 Years and Up - 4 Weeks Paid Vacation
SICK LEAVE: 6.67 hours per month earned. No limit on total days accumulated.
PERSONAL LEAVE: Earn 2.67 hours per month.
1 to 5 Years of Service - 4 days per year (Accumulated Monthly)
5 Years and Over - 5 days per year
HOLIDAYS: 10 Paid Holidays per year.
MEDICAL/DENTAL INSURANCE: Coverage effective first day of the next month following completion of one calendar month of employment. Members may opt out of the City's insurance program with proof of other coverage – coverage for dependents is optional. The City of Peoria Health Insurance offers two (2) plan options for coverage. Bi-weekly premiums for AFSCME employees depend on which plan is selected. On your hire date, you will meet with City's Patient Advocate to receive detailed information on the plans and the appropriate premium cost. Depending on plan selection, you can enroll in the Flexible Spending Program (FSA) or Health Savings Account (HSA).
