Role: Director, Feature and Non-Scripted Post Production

Compensation: Base Salary ($150K-$170K) + Target Bonus (15%)

Location: Los Angeles, CA


Role Summary:


We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Post Production to oversee the end-to-end execution of both feature and non-scripted productions. This role will serve as a critical liaison between creative, production, and post teams to ensure the successful realization of each project from development through delivery.


The ideal candidate has a deep understanding of the production and post-production process, strong leadership and negotiation skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining the highest level of creative integrity and efficiency.


Role Responsibilities:


  • Collaborate with filmmakers and producers to identify, hire, and manage Post Producers, Editors, and other post personnel.
  • Oversee the contracting and management of post and VFX vendors, including facilities, equipment, and security protocols.
  • Review, approve, and manage post-production budgets and costs, including dailies, film processing, and finishing services.
  • Ensure cost accuracy and compliance with reporting standards across all projects.
  • Define and manage post workflows for dailies, editorial, sound, picture finishing, QC, and final delivery.
  • Maintain and enforce distributor delivery requirements and schedules.
  • Collaborate with Production Services to update the Post Production Manual and ensure post team alignment with standardized processes.
  • Manage the setup and execution of dailies and editorial platforms, ensuring proper access control and watermarking.
  • Ensure timely assembly and review of Main and End Titles.
  • Oversee accurate and timely delivery of all digital and physical assets for internal use and external distribution, including for future rights exploitation.


Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated expertise in budgeting, scheduling, and managing production and post-production lifecycles.
  • Strong familiarity with industry guilds and unions including SAG-AFTRA, DGA, WGA, IATSE, and relevant post-production workflows and protocols.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple concurrent projects under tight deadlines.
  • Excellent negotiation, leadership, and communication skills with a solution-oriented mindset.
  • Comfortable working with high-level executives, talent, and partners, maintaining professionalism and discretion at all times.
  • Strong understanding of delivery specifications and distribution pipelines.
  • Technically fluent with current digital production and post tools, cameras, and editing platforms.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as needed.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Film, Media, or related field.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including experience preparing presentations and documentation.
  • Experience in studio or network environments is a plus.
  • Ability to think strategically while managing day-to-day responsibilities.
